Object: A baby only a few weeks old.

Lesson: We start out little and we grow bigger and stronger and God is always loving us.

I have someone to show you today. This baby is named [Jonathan] and [he] isn’t very old. Babies are very little when they’re born. [Jonathan] was born only a few weeks ago. Do you think that you were ever this little? Well, it’s true. You were this little. I once was this little, even though I’m grown up now.

Everyone starts out this little. Then what happens to us? Do we stay this little? What do we do? You’re right. We get bigger. How do babies get bigger? Yes. They eat and they sleep and that makes them grow bigger.

Do you think God planned for us all to start out very little and then to grow bigger? I think God planned for us to begin as very little babies, and he also planned for us to grow bigger and stronger.

There’s a baby in the Bible that we talk about at Christmastime. What’s that baby’s name? Yes. Jesus is his name. Do you think he started out as little as this baby? Yes. He did start out this little. Then he ate and he slept, and he grew bigger and stronger, just as we do.

The Bible says that all the time Jesus was growing bigger and stronger, God loved him. God loves all of us, too, both when we’re little babies and also when we’re bigger and stronger.
