Object: alarm clock

Good morning, boys and girls. Do you have an alarm clock at home? What is this for? That's right, it's to help you wake up in the morning. Do you think this would wake you up? (Set off loud alarm) Whoa! That's loud! That would sure get me up!

The purpose of an alarm clock is to get us out of bed, to get us going for the day. If we didn't set our alarm clocks, we might sleep all day and miss some very important stuff. Have you ever missed school, or has your mommy and daddy missed work because they forgot to set their alarm to wake them up?

That's an awful feeling. We would miss some very important stuff if we forgot to set our alarm.

You know, some people go through the whole year and they never realize how important Christmas is. They miss the whole joy and excitement and specialness of Christmas. Those people need a "Christmas alarm"! They need something to wake them up, so they won't miss out on the reason for Christmas. What's so special about Christmas? God came to earth, in the form of Jesus, to tell us how much He loves us. That is so exciting! Remember that don't miss out on it. That's how much God loves you. Let's pray and thank God for showing us His love in this great way.
